“Use our jigsaw table or lose it” urged Al Arnot in our Spring Newsletter. The answer came back to the Committee that we could lose it, but our loss was Hatfield Forest’s gain! Shortly after Al wrote his article, a suggestion was made that Hatfield Forest could sell books and jigsaws from the Welcome Hub to raise funds for work at the Forest. The Committee readily agreed to transfer our jigsaws and books to Hatfield. The first batch was presented to Ben Rosendale, the Visitor Experience Manager, at the President’s event in May when we watched Selena, the sheepdog the Group helped finance, at work.

The original puzzles and further batches were quickly sold, with people even asking when more would be arriving! Those selling them were delighted by the response of visitors and very pleased with the amount raised, which has been in excess of £50.

Ben Rosendale, the Visitor Experience Manager at the Forest writes:

“Thank you once again to the whole of the supporter group for the donation of the jigsaws! They have been incredibly well received and sold out within days. The added interest they brought also had a knock-on effect on book donations!

“Thank you once again, it’s really appreciated!”

If you have any jigsaws, books, CDs or DVDs that you no longer require, then please bring them along to one of our evening meetings and I shall be pleased to take them to the Forest!
